There is also a tab on the left called “Feedback” you can use, as well as a link in the menu on the right. So go for it! I’ll be checking it, so feel free to use it to help Oh My Gods! grow!
Deepest apologies for the vacation
Welcome back everyone! I see many faces I remember and tons more new to me! Welcome back veterans and glad to have you newbies!
My deepest apologies for the strip’s long vacation. To not get into much detail, thankfully my feet are back underneath me again and I’m hopefully in a place where I can create the strip on a regular basis again. Currently there is a (huge) void in the strip (from August 4th to November 3rd) – I will try to refill this with content, but I do not want to promise what I am unsure I can deliver. If I do, you’ll be the first to know!
In the Works - Oh My Gods! Hardcover
While it's not ready to be finalized yet, I wanted to let all you lovely fans know about a special project I am working on. I am going to create an Oh My Gods! Special Edition Hard Cover book of the first Five Years of the strip. It will be pretty! It will be fantastic! It will (sadly) also be very expensive! However, I know there will be at least one customer (me) and perhaps maybe more!
Just wanted to give you all a tease!

Indeed
I so totally went to one of those rallies. I was like, 300 feet away from Wanda Sykes when she officially came out, and then while marching she was about 10 feet behind me lol But yeah, total bulls*it about prop 8. Also was at the WeHo march, the San Diego rally, and the protest in Laguna. It's weird how in the course of one week I got so . . .gay lol Totally need to start a Gay Witch coalition ^_^
Oh, and thank gods your back Shiv!
I agree
Equal rights for all!
Or as the people who run the country would say - EQUAL RIGHTS BUT ONLY FOR ME!

I just about cried when I found out it had passed. This was in the middle of government class.

I felt so happy and empowered when the State Supreme Court issued their decision, especially when I read it through. I've been depressed pretty much nonstop since the election. I just feel violated.
I think every voter should have been required to read that court decision before voting.
Even if the Court overturns it, it'll just be on a technicality, and I'll still feel like the majority of my fellow Californians think I'm less of a citizen than they are.
Still, it only barely passed, and the vote is strongly skewed towards age. It's only a matter of time until the majority of Californians approve giving gays the right to marry. Still, for right now, it's like a punch to the gut that just won't go away.
Thanks for dedicating a strip to it, Shivian!
no worries.
when i move back to cali we'll get closer in numbers to the majority :)
*hugs*
Its a set back and an Insult
I rarily get upset by the politics of the world let alone those of our own country. I had hoped people in the USA would finally get their heads out of their collective arses and see that your heart can not See what Color a persons skin is, Nor does it ask how old they are, and it certain doesn't give a flying fat rat's behind what sex they are. I have traveled to many places and only in this country are the gays abused this way. Only here.
There are some cutting edge companies out there that acknowledge same sex partnerships and allow them insurance rights like married couples. I can only hope that other people and companies will follow in the footsteps like Walgreens.

Stan hits a little close to home...
I ended up out at a bar in San Diego on Friday night and several of my gay friends (who were all upset by the Prop) were even more frustrated by the level of of apathy that they saw within the gay community. There's a strong perception here that certain aspects of the community just simply don't care whether they have the right to marry and are "happy" just the way things are, or just see it as a big joke. On the upside, there are lots of us (straight/gay/etcetera) that do care and are working on getting the ban overturned.
Thanks, Shiv, for covering this one!
Crafty politics
When I heard that prop 8 was passed I was and still am PO-ed! What gets me is that prop 8 was named save the right to marry or something like that. So if you didn't know what it is was about of course you would vote yes. I believe that the laws they want passed shouldn't be named in a way to deceive people. This isn't the 1st time it was done either. I really do hope that same sex marriages happens again for Cal but also for the entire country.
On a slightly happy note, my
On a slightly happy note, my company just announced that they would be allowing employees to submit same-sex partners for insurance and benefit coverage. Small victories, right?
Neutiquam erro.
Victor
I love my company because they have that too. ^_^
yeargh >.<
I'm so pissed that bill passed in California of all places. So what's going to happen to the couples who are already married? Are their marriages revoked or something? It just feels like a betrayal of all of the forward thinking everyone's supposedly doing.
